Stanford -140 1.4% play
Troy Taylor comes in to take over from Sacramento State where he went 30-8 the last 3 seasons. Hawaii played well in Week 0 vs. Vanderbilt, and this line has gone crazy and I think is an over reaction. Hawaii was trailing by 21 points in the 4th quarter. Hawaii has a short week and traveling from Tennessee all the way back to Hawaii, where they really don’t have home field advantage. Stanford also has a week to prepare for what they saw on tape with Hawaii, while Hawaii really has nothing to prepare for for Stanford who will mix in 3 QB’s running a new offense.
Stanford is in a complete rebuild, and the perception is very bad with how many players they lost and how last season went, but they still had a few bright spots, and when you factor they were just 1 of 10 FBS teams with an opponent ypp differential of +0.5 on average they had a very challenging schedule. This line move of 7 points and public backing of Hawaii is just too tasty not to fade. Stanford still has NFL talent at TE And RB, and Stanford has a very tough schedule and really needs to win to start the season. I think there is value on Stanford in this spot it may not be pretty, and it may even be a loser, but it’s a spot I just can’t pass up.
